Charlotte, NC - Carolina Panthers backup quarterback Derek Anderson will start in place of injured Cam Newton on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Newton suffered two transverse process fractures in his lower back in a two- car accident Tuesday afternoon near the teams stadium. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday morning and will be reevaluated next week. Anderson started for Newton in the Panthers Week 1 win at Tampa Bay.
