With Gareth Bale recovering from the flu and Karim Benzema on the bench, all of Madrids attack went through Ronaldo on the left flank. And the Ballon dOr winner didnt disappoint by unleashing two similar blasts after cutting inside to put the ball on his right boot and lift his league-leading tally to 30 goals through 35 rounds. Madrid provisionally closed to within three points of leader Atletico Madrid before it visits Valencia on Sunday, when Barcelona, one point behind Madrid, hosts Villarreal. Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti also gave valuable rest to defender Pepe and midfielder Xavi Alonso to prepare for its visit to Bayern on Tuesday in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal. Madrid won the first leg 1-0. "Everything he tried turned out well for us," Ancelotti said about Ronaldo. "We could rest some players and played a good game, even if it wasnt a very intense one." Elsewhere, Getafes 1-0 win over Malaga condemned last-place Real Betis to relegation even before it fell 1-0 at home to Real Sociedad, while Rayo Vallecano scored three times in the second half for a 3-0 win at 10-man Granada. Osasuna lined up to provide Madrid a guard of honour before the match as the hosts paraded their recently won Copa del Rey trophy at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Ronaldo then went to work chalking up his 29th league goal in the sixth minute when he unleashed a trademark blast from outside the area that took a slight deflection off defender Damia Abella before falling just inside the far upright. He looked to get his teammates involved, and set up scoring chances for Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Alvaro Morata. But it fell to Ronaldo to start the second half as he had the first, with Osasunas outclassed defence letting him again dribble to near the elbow of the area before he launched a shot into the top corner of the net in the 52nd. "Both goals came at the start of each half and that complicated things for us," Osasuna coach Javi Gracia said. "They are both more merit of Ronaldo than my defences fault. Its true Damia touches the first strike and that gives it an effect, but the second shot is unstoppable." Sergio Ramos headed in a third goal in the 60th and Ronaldo went to the bench seconds later to an ovation from the crowd. Dani Carvajal headed home Isco Alarcons lobbed pass to cap the lopsided victory in the 83rd. Osasuna, which lost Raoul Loe and Emiliano Armenteros to injuries, remained three points above the relegation zone along with Getafe. Forward Adrian Colunga scored what proved to be the winner seven minutes into the game at Getafe from a pass by Ciprian Marica, who left his side a man down from the 37th for a second yellow card. But Malaga couldnt take advantage of the extra man and itself lost a player when Marcos Angeleri was sent off for a second booking in the 76th. "This victory is huge," Getafe coach Cosmin Contra said. "You saw team spirit today. We are still alive." Sociedad added to Betis misery by winning thanks to Carlo Velas 54th-minute penalty kick after Juan Carlos Perez fouled him in the area. Sociedad strengthen its hold on sixth place and cemented its Europa League berth for next season. Rayo rose into ninth place with only one loss in its last 10 matches. Rayo held Granada in check in the first half before Yacine Brahimis dismissal for a second yellow card in the 51st turned the match in the visitors favour. All the matches observed a minute of silence before kickoff for Barcelonas former coach, Tito Vilanova, who died on Friday after a battle with cancer. Custom Pistons Jersey . AMIR JOHNSON (Raptors): I cant figure out what the issue or problem is, but based upon what Im seeing, hes not right. MIAMI -- Zack Wheeler and the New York Mets got the best of Andrew Heaney during the Marlins prospects major league debut. Wheeler tossed his first shutout and made David Wrights first-inning home run hold up in the Mets 1-0 victory over Miami on Thursday night. "He showed you exactly what weve been talking about all along -- plus stuff. Tremendous, great effort," Mets manager Terry Collins said of Wheeler. "He went after them. It was his night." Wheeler (3-7) outdueled Heaney in the longest outing of the Mets starters career. "It feels great, I know I can do it every time out," Wheeler said. "I know I have the stuff. It finally feels good to go out there and do it and be efficient with my pitches and get ahead of guys." New York, which won at St. Louis on Wednesday, has consecutive victories for the first time since a three-game streak from May 31-June 2. The Mets had dropped eight straight on the road before Wednesday. Wheeler, the No. 6 pick in the 2009 draft, struck out eight. He allowed three hits and one walk, and 70 of his 111 pitches were strikes. He pitched to only one batter over the minimum and was helped by three double plays. "Anytime somebody gets on, whether it be a walk or hit, you just try to make a pitch and get a double play. I was able to do that," Wheeler said. The 24-year old right-hander lowered his ERA to 0.96 in four starts against the Marlins. "He didnt miss over the plate much," Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia said. "He was really good with locating his pitches off the plate. He threw a lot of fastballs, like we expected, but he didnt leave anything over the plate. "Youve got to tip your cap to a guy who pitched a great game." Heaney (0-1) gave up four hits in six innings, allowing only Wrights home run. The 23-year old lefty, the ninth pick in the 2012 draft, struck out three and walked one. "He did a nice job, gave us a chance and kept us in the game," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "He gave up one pitch to a really good hitter for a home run and that was it. He executed his pitches, got hiis pitch count up high early, but then settled in.dddddddddddd "All in all it was a good start for him." It was a battle between two young starters that could see a lot of each other in coming years in the NL East. "Thats what the game is coming to," Collins said. "The game is changing where those big power arms are coming up in every organization, and theyre all young." Heaney allowed an infield hit to Eric Young, Jr. to begin the game, but got Daniel Murphy to bounce into a double play. Wright then hit his sixth homer of the season off the sculpture in deep left-centre field. No one else got into scoring position against Heaney. "I had no expectations, to be honest," Heaney said. "I just wanted to pitch well. I felt early on I didnt know how it was going to go. It was kind of on the edge with every guy. From that fourth inning on I got into a rhythm." Bryan Morris relieved Heaney in the seventh and faced a bases loaded situation, but he got Wheeler to ground out and end the threat. Wheeler, who made his much-anticipated debut a year and a day before Heaney, complimented his mound opponent. "I sat on the bench in between innings and just watched him, knowing that I was there not too long ago and knowing how he felt," Wheeler said. "He has a good arm, and I think hes going to do well." Kevin Gregg pitched the ninth in his season debut with Miami. He earned 61 saves for the Marlins in 2007-08. Reed Johnson singled in the ninth off Wheeler with two outs, but Rafael Furcal lined out to centre to end the game. Wheeler threw a 95 mph fastball on his final pitch. "I still had plenty," Wheeler said. NOTES: Mets OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, and OF Matt den Dekker was optioned to Las Vegas. ... The result was a late-season game with a preseason feel, noteworthy for Alex Ovechkins NHL-leading 51st goal and a shutout from the goalie who was seemingly skittish about facing his former team earlier in the week. Ovechkin and the Capitals beat the Blackhawks 4-0 on Friday night, an impressive-looking result that didnt mean much. Washington still isnt going to make the playoffs for the first time since 2007, and Chicago is locked into finishing third in the Central Division. "Theyre getting prepared for the playoffs and resting up a bit," Capitals forward Eric Fehr said, "so you dont want to take too much out of a game like that." Jay Beagle had his first career two-goal game, and Nicklas Backstrom also scored as the Capitals won their fourth straight, a winning streak thats rings hollow in D.C. "We want to finish off good," Backstrom said. "The last few games weve been playing all right, even if the games are a little more like a scrimmage." Ovechkins first-period goal -- a one-timer from the back edge of the left circle -- was his 24th on the power play, a Capitals franchise record and the most in the NHL since Steven Stamkos had 24 in the 2009-10 season. Ovechkins power-play output underscores his lack of scoring at even strength over the final six weeks of the season, as well as his minus-35 rating that is among the worst in the league. "Its pretty hard to be mentally ready for that kind of game. ... But soon its going to be, like, five months, play golf and do some stuff," Ovechkin said. "Youre probably going to miss hockey, so thats why you give everything and enjoy your moment." Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves in his first shutout since the trade deadline deal that brought him to Washington from the St. Louis Blues. It was also his first game since a bizarre episode on Tuesday, when he didnt play against the Blues because, according to Washington coach Adam Oates, the goalie wasnt "100 per cent comfortable" with the prospect of facing his former team for the first time.dddddddddddd Halaks agent disputed Oates account and said any private conversations between player and coach shouldnt have been made public. Oates said before Fridays game that he had spoken to Halak and things were "all good." After the game, Halak essentially ignored questions about the topic, other than to agree that he and Oates have worked things out. "Theres no problem," Halak said. Meanwhile, about the only thing that can be said about the Blackhawks is that they actually participated in the game, and thats probably a stretch. "Well throw it in the garbage can," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said. "Well learn a little bit from it, but certainly were not happy about the way things played out. But it was one of those games." Quenneville, who had planned to rest some players over the final two games, gave defenceman Duncan Keith the night off and subbed goalie Corey Crawford after two periods. Still, forward Patrick Sharp was looking for a bit more effort. "Its the NHL. Were professionals," Sharp said. "We should be ready to go." Chicago had its four-game winning streak snapped. The defending Stanley Cup champions have a potential concern as they prepare for a run at another title: They have lost eight of 10 on the road, scoring only 15 goals in those games. "Its just a game we can definitely look past and move on to the next one," Crawford said. "I dont know, lets just forget about it. I dont know what else to day." After one agonizing playoff game away, Getzlaf came roaring back to put the Ducks in command of their series with Dallas. Getzlaf had a goal and two assists in his return from injury, and the Ducks scored four power-play goals in a 6-2 victory over the Stars on Friday night to take a 3-2 lead in their first-round series. Getzlaf became the Ducks career post-season scoring leader with a dynamic performance that betrayed no problems from his undisclosed upper-body injury -- except maybe, he acknowledged, on a horrendous first-period giveaway to Jamie Benn for Dallas first goal. "I thought I got better as the game went on," Getzlaf said. "I felt more and more comfortable. The crowd was unbelievable. Everything was fired right up. They give us so much energy." Game 6 is Sunday in Dallas. The Ducks captain, who got hit in the face with a slap shot in the series opener, now has 66 playoff points, surpassing Teemu Selannes 64 in franchise history. Corey Perry also had a goal and two assists for the top-seeded Ducks, who broke open a tight game early in the third period and confidently moved to the brink of the second round after dropping the last two games in Dallas. Getzlaf and Perry led the way, putting Anaheim one win away from just its second playoff series victory since its only Stanley Cup title in 2007. "Every time you get your captain back, its going to make you feel better," Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau said. "Its like your big brother is back. Guys felt a little more secure, and he came out and had a great game." Nick Bonino, Mathieu Perreault, Jakob Silfverberg and Rickard Rakell also scored for Anaheim, which set a franchise record for playoff power-play goals. The Ducks chased Kari Lehtonen with five goals on their first 21 shots. Shawn Horcoff also scored for the Stars, who couldnt score on seven power-play chances. Despite the lopsided final score, the Stars regretted a missed opportunity. "The second period, we just utterly dominated," Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said. "We hit post. We hit crossbar. Spent the whole time down in their end. Its tough. We lost the special-teams battle, which was the difference tonight." Frederik Andersen made 34 saves after getting pulled from Game 4, but the Ducks gave him plenty of offensive cushion in a hard-hitting, whistle-filled game. Anaheim scored three goals in the first seven minutes of the third period and set a club playoff record for power-play goals, scoring at least one in every period. Selanne also returned to the Ducks lineup after coach Bruce Boudreau kept him out of Game 4 as a healthy scratch, infuriating most of the Anaheim fan base. The home team has won every game in this bad-tempered, physical series, and it got even uglier when Dallas forward Ryan Garbutt got a game misconduct in the first period of Game 5 for spearing Perry in the groin, leaving the Ducks top goal-scorer on the ice in agony during a line change. "I was just coming back to the bench and got careless with my stick," Garbutt said. "It was deliberate," Boudreau countered. "It wasnt an accident. It was pretty dirty." After Boninos opening goal, Anaheim had a five-minute power play after Garbutts spearing penalty. After Getzlaf handed Benn his third goal of the series, the Ducks went back ahead 26 seconds later when Francois Beauchemins slap shot deflected off Rakell, the 20-year-old Swedish rookie appearing in just his second career playoff game. Horcoff trimmed Anaheims lead with his first goal of the series on a loose puck in the slot. After the Ducks barely thwarted a prolonged Dallas push to close the second period, Silfverberg got his first goal of the series early in the third with a one-timer off a behind-the-net pass from Cogliano. "I thought our second period was pretty good," Benn said. "We came in here, tried to regroup and come out with the same effort, but they jumped on us early. We took a stupid penalty, and that was it." Getzlaf chased Lehtonen after Perry forced a turnover by Brenden Dillon. Perry then got the Ducks fourth power-play goal 2:19 later after Trevor Daley left him alone in front of Tim Thomas, the 2011 Conn Smythe Trophy winner with Boston. NOTES: The Ducks scratched D Hampus Lindholm with a stiff neck and dressed D Luca Sbisa for the first time in the series. Boudreau praised Sbisas performance. ... Dickersons single to right in the 13th inning scored Nolan Arenado to give the Colorado Rockies a 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday night. It was the second big hit of the night for Dickerson, who sent the game into extra innings with a home run to the third deck in the ninth. "Its one of the longer ones Ive seen here," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "Ive seen a few go into that upper deck but he hit that ball a long way. He can hit. Its well documented." Matt Belisle (4-6), the ninth Rockies pitcher, got the win with one inning of perfect relief. Arenado led off the 13th with a double off the wall in left field against Sam Dyson (2-1). Dickerson, who was bested by Dyson on Friday, followed with a liner to right, and Arenado easily beat the throw from Giancarlo Stanton. "Last night, bases loaded, same guy and I swung first pitch on a sinker and grounded out," Dickerson said. "I kind of wanted to see a pitch and I wanted to get a pitch up. He threw a ball down like last night, and I think he hung a changeup or a slider up and in." His teammates mobbed him near second base after he ended the 4 hour, 28-minute game. It was the sixth walk-off win for the Rockies this season. "We put ourselves in a good position, had a chance to win a ballgame and it didnt happen," Miami manager Mike Redmond said. "We had it and we just couldnt lock it up." Adeiny Hechavarria gave the Marlins a 4-3 lead in the ninth with an RBI single off closer LaTroy Hawkins. Dickerson tied it in the bottom half with a 455-foot drive off Steve Cishek for his 19th homer of the season. It was Cisheks fourth blown save. "I fell (behind) 3-1 to a guy thats an all-or-nothing hitter, and when you miss down and in to a lefty thats a power hitter, it doesnt put you in a good spot or the team in a good spot," Cishek said. The Rockies erased a 1-0 deficit in the third inning with a run on a double play and a two-run homer by Brandon Barnes. Miami got a run in the fourth when Jordan Lyles walked Donovan Solano with the bases loaded, and then tied it on Jarrod Saltalamacchias RBI double in the fifth. Lyles left after giving up a pair of two-out singles in the sixth, but lefty Rex Brothers strruck out Garrett Jones to end the inning.dddddddddddd Lyles allowed three runs on seven hits, struck out five and walked five. Miami starter Tom Koehlers only blemish was the third inning. He struck out four and didnt walk a batter in tossing seven solid innings. After allowing two singles to lead off the fourth he retired 11 of the last 12 batters he faced. The one single he allowed was wiped out on a caught stealing. POWER SURGE Dickersons home run was the 33rd to reach the third deck in Coors Field. The last player to do it was Brandon Moss on June 12, 2012, for Oakland. The last Colorado player to do it was Carlos Gonzalez as part of his cycle on July 31, 2010. "Ive done it a couple of times in (batting practice) and just joking around they tell me to do it in a game," Dickerson said. "I got a good pitch and put a pretty good swing on it." GLOVE WORK Hechavarria saved a run in the bottom of the 12th when he raced out and made a leaping catch of Justin Morneaus blooper with two outs. Had the ball fallen Rockies pitcher and pinch-runner Tyler Matzek would have scored from third. "I dont how he got to that ball. At the time, it was a huge game-saving play," Redmond said. "Its too bad we couldnt come back and flip a run out there, but it wasnt our night." DOUBLE JEOPARDY The Marlins had a rally going in the 11th when the first two batters reached. But the inning turned strange when Marcell Ozunas line drive went off the glove of shortstop Josh Rutledge. Rutledge got the ball and tagged second for one out, and Casey McGehee was caught between second and third. He was tagged out in a rundown. "I was just trying to get a ground ball out there and it ended up being a line drive," Rockies reliever Nick Masset said. "I was saying, Tag the guy, no tag the base. Just excited about the way it went." TRAINERS ROOM Marlins: No injury updates. Rockies: OF Michael Cuddyer didnt start for the fourth consecutive game because of a sore left hamstring. Cuddyer pinch-hit in the 12th and drew a leadoff walk. UP NEXT The Marlins will send LHP Brad Hand (2-5, 4.52) against RHP Christian Bergman (0-2, 7.20) in the last game of the three-game set. A rookie reliever with the Atlanta Braves last May, Rasmus left the mound angry after giving up a home run to Edwin Encarnacion and a double to his older brother, Blue Jays centre fielder Colby Rasmus, in an eventual 9-3 interleague loss for Atlanta. Now with the Los Angeles Angels, Cory is back in Toronto for a four-game set against Colbys Blue Jays. And one year later, the younger Rasmus (by 15 months) feels a lot different about his last outing at Rogers Centre. "To be honest with you, I didnt really get to enjoy the moment like I wish I would have, but to have an opportunity to come up here and maybe face him again is awesome," Cory Rasmus said hours before first pitch Friday. "Hopefully I can embrace it a little more and I wont be so uptight about everything, because looking back on it, it was awesome. Brothers dont get to face each other too often in the big leagues." Rasmus made his major league debut a week before the Toronto outing last year, and was traded to the Angels the following month. He finished the 2013 season with a 5.40 ERA through 21 2/3 innings. Since being called up by the Angels a week ago, the 26-year-old, whos endured three shoulder surgeries over the last seven years, has pitched two scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out one. With Colby Rasmus on a hott streak as well -- batting .dddddddddddd391 with a .417 on-base percentage and .913 slugging percentage over the last seven days -- both brothers say theyre looking forward a possible rematch of last years at-bat. The two had breakfast together Friday morning, and younger brother Cyle, whos just finished his college career at Columbus State University, will be in the Rogers Centre stands taking in the action this weekend. Colby Rasmus says the playing field between him and Cory is a bit more even these days. "I didnt really like (facing him) a whole lot last year." he said. "Ive had the good fortune of hanging around the big leagues a bit longer and he was having struggles with his shoulder. Hed just been in the minor leagues, it wasnt really a fun time." Cory and Colby were always teammates throughout their childhood, playing together in the Little League World Series in 1999, and winning a State Championship with Russell County High School in Seale, Ala., in 2005. With that kind of history, Colby Rasmus admits its strange having Cory on the other side of the diamond. But hes glad to see his younger brother getting his shot in the big leagues. "Id love nothing more than to have him do well," he said. The steady progress of Devin Harris had a lot to do with the surge. Nowitzki scored 23 points, Harris had a season-high 16 and the Mavericks pulled away from Cleveland 124-107 Monday night, handing the Cavaliers their fifth straight loss. Nowitzki was on the bench for most of a key third-quarter stretch led by Jose Calderon, Brandan Wright and Harris, who was playing his eighth game after missing the first 41 following off-season toe surgery. "Just trying to get comfortable out there," Harris said. "I am trying to make the most of my minutes." Harris had seven points on a 9-2 run that gave the Mavericks their first 15-point lead, and Wright scored nine of his 14 points in the third. Jose Calderon had four of his game-high 10 assists in the quarter and hit a pair of 3-pointers. "Were just passing the ball and trying to get a really nice pace," said Calderon, who scored 11 points. Harris had his previous season high of 14 points in three straight games before getting seven in Fridays win over Sacramento. He finally broke the 14-point mark with two free throws, and then assisted on a dunk by Samuel Dalembert that gave Dallas its biggest lead at 106-87. Dalembert had 18 points -- two off his season high -- and two blocks after not even attempting a shot and getting three rebounds when the Mavericks held on to beat the Cavaliers last month in Cleveland, despite a combined 37 points and 31 rebounds from Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao. "I cant guarantee you the offence because some days the ball is coming to me and some days I only take one field goal," Dalembert said. "What Im trying to do is make sure the guys are crashing the boards." Five days after Cleveland general manager Chris Grant questioned his teams will, the Cavaliers didnt quit. They scored eight quick points and had a chance to make it nine when Jarrett Jack got fouled after making a 3-pointer. Jack missed the free throw, and the Cavaliers couldnt get the deficit under 10 after that. Luol Deng scored 18 points, Thompson had 17 and both had eight rebounds for the Cavaliers, who had seven players in double figures. "I thought offensively we did some nice things out there," Cleveland coach Mike Brown said. "Weve got to keep grinding until we get out of it. The only thing we can do is work, keep our head up and keep looking forward." Nowitzki, who was averaging 33 points in his previous three games, had 16 in the first half and matched Dalembert with eight rebounds for the game. Nowitzki scored the last eight points on a 13-2 run that put the Mavericks up 52-39, but he missed his last three shots of the first half as the Cavaliers got back within seven at halftime. Ellis followed up an 11-point fourth quarter that boosted a rally to beat Sacramento with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting in the first half against Cleveland. The Bild newspaper reported Wednesday -- without citing any sources -- that Schumacher had developed pneumonia, but Sabine Kehms emailed statement Thursday made no mention of that. "As often in such situations no day is like the next," Kehm said, adding that Schumachers family does not wish to disclose medical details in order to protect Schumachers privacy. "We will continue to communicate any decisive new information on Michaels health state. We are aware that the wake-up phase can take a long time. "The family continues to strongly believe in Michaels recovery. ... The important thing is not the speed of the recovery but that Michaels healing process progresses in a continuous and ccontrolled way," Kehm said.dddddddddddd Schumachers doctors started waking up the German driver one month after his crash in the French resort of Meribel. The 45-year-old Schumacher suffered serious head injuries Dec. 29 when he fell and hit the right side of his head on a rock. The German has been treated in the Grenoble University Hospital since then. His condition has stabilized following surgery after initially being described as critical. Experts have said it will likely be months before Schumachers prognosis becomes clear -- and that lasting brain damage is a possibility. Schumacher earned universal acclaim for his uncommon and sometimes ruthless driving talent, which led to a record 91 race wins. He retired from Formula One in 2012 after garnering an unmatched seven world titles. His accident happened on a family vacation in the Alps as Schumacher was skiing with his 14-year-old son. Luc Mbah a Moute paced the Sixers with 18 points, while Nerlens Noel contributed 14 points, six rebounds and a career-high six blocks in the win. The Sixers, who have won two straight home games since taking the first two at home last season, snapped their season-opening 17-game losing streak with a win over Minnesota on Dec. 3. Kevin Martin had 19 points, Nikola Pekovic tallied 18 points with seven rebounds and Gorgui Dieng posted 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who looked to win two straight games for the first time this season. Final Score: Atlanta 105, Portland 99 Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Atlantas All-Stars came through again. Paul Millsap, Al Horford and Jeff Teague had plenty of help as the Hawks pushed their franchise-record winning streak to 18 games. Millsap scored 21 points, Horford had 17 and Teague scored six of his 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Hawks held off LaMarcus Aldridge and the Portland Trail Blazers for a 105-99 victory on Friday night. Kyle Korver added 16 points and Kent Bazemore had 12 points in 40 minutes off the bench as the Hawks won without injured forward DeMarre Carroll, who sat with a left Achilles strain. Millsap, Horford and Teague were all named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team on Thursday, the first time since 1980 that three Hawks made the game. Atlantas Mike Budenholzer will coach the East in the Feb. 15 game at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Hawks havent lost since Dec. 26 in Milwaukee. And at 39-8, they surpassed last seasons win total (38-44). They could secure a perfect 17-0 month with a win Saturday against Philadelphia, which will end a seven-game homestand. Aldridge scored 37 points for Portland a day after he was named to the Western Conference All-Star team. Wesley Matthews added 16 points and Damian Lillard scored 13 with 11 assists. Final Score: Houston 93, Boston 87 Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - In the absence of Dwight Howard, Donatas Motiejunas had a career night to keep the Houston Rockets winning streak alive. Motiejunas scored a career-high 26 points with 12 rebounds to lead the Rockets to a 93-87 win over the Boston Celtics. Howard missed his third straight game with a knee injury. The team revealed earlier in the week that Howard is suffering from edema in the knee caused by fluid build-up in body tissues. Josh Smith deposited 15 points and James Harden added 14 with seven assists and six rebounds for Houston, which has won four straight both overall and in the series with Boston. Brandon Bass and Marcus Thornton each scored 17 points for the Celtics, who have lost three of their last four. Final Score: Toronto 127, Brooklyn 122 (OT) Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - DeMar DeRozan finished with 26 points and nine assists as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Brooklyn Nets 127-122 for a thrilling overtime victory on Friday. Lou Williams netted 25 points, Amir Johnson had 24 points and seven rebounds and Jonas Valanciunas supplied 14 points and 11 boards for the Raptors, who won their fifth straight win. Brook Lopez and Jarrett Jack each scored a season-high 35 points, with Lopez also grabbing 12 rebounds and Jack tallying 13 assists for the Nets, who have dropped their last four games. Final Score: Cleveland 101, Sacramento 90 Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - LeBron James returned to the Cavaliers lineup and scored 19 points, and Cleveland used balanced scoring to top the Sacramento Kings 101-90, extending its season-long winning streak. Kevin Love had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Kyrie Irving scored 21 points with six assists. Irving carried the load offensively in Clevelands win over Portland on Wednesday, netting a career-high 55 of the teams 99 points. James, who missed that game with a wrist injury, also contributed seven assists and four steals, and J.R. Smith added 16 points. The Cavs have ripped off nine straight wins since a six-game skid. DeMarcus Cousins led Sacramento with 21 points and 13 rebounds just hours after it was announced that he would make his first appearance in the All-Star game. Cousins will replace injured Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who had season- ending shoulder surgery. Rudy Gay chipped in 20 points in Sacramentos eight straight setback. With a 39-3 run. Charlie Villanueva scored 20 points and the Mavericks held the Heat to just three points over a nearly 14-minute span in the third and fourth quarters on the way to a 93-72 win on Friday night. Miamis stale finish -- which came after Dallas started the game ice-cold from the field -- tempered what was a career night for Hassan Whiteside, who set a franchise record with 14 rebounds in the first quarter. The 7-foot center ended with 16 points and a career-high 24 rebounds for the Heat, who were without Dwyane Wade because of a hamstring strain the All-Star guard suffered Tuesday against Milwaukee, which could sideline him for weeks. James Ennis added 15 points off the bench, All-Star Chris Bosh scored 12 and Mario Chalmers had 10 in Miamis fourth loss in six games. Kisner began the day with a two-stroke lead and finished at 13-under 275 after a tumultuous final round in the tournament featuring 80 professionals from the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Web.com tours. "I wish I would had about a six-stroke lead, so it wasnt so stressful," said Kisner, who rejoined the PGA Tour this season. "The back nine was playing brutally hard. I just got unlucky." Kisner, who had a tournament-low 64 Saturday at Spyglass Hill, moved to 17 under and a six-stroke margin after 11 holes. But he bogeyed the 12th, double-bogeyed the 14th and bogeyed the 17th. "I just hung in there," said Kisner, who in March claimed his second Web.com Tour at the Chile Open in Santiago. "Things like this always happen when you are in the hunt. Hadley, playing in the final group with Kisner, began the day trailing by five shots. But he remained steady while Kisner stumbled. "When Kevin double-bogeyed 14, I definitely thought I still had a chance," said Hadley, a 2014 PGA Tour rookie. "The conditions were tough out there, but I thought I had a chance on the 18th, but Kevin made a downhill 15-footer to win. My hats off to him." Tommy Armour III (68) and Kirk Triplett (72) were the top Champions Tour finishers and were among five players at 282. Custom Jaguars Jerseys .J. Ellis have avoided arbitration, agreeing to a one-year contract. The run-up to Thursdays NFL draft has been one of the most intriguing in years, with the first and second picks having already been traded. Players have seen their draft stock plummet, a number for concerns off the field, as teams prepare their boards and fine tune their plans for the big night in Chicago.Ill be live blogging the event into the early hours of Friday morning, with help from Alex Ferguson (@viewfromamerica) so I thought I would put together my prediction of how things will go. So here goes with my first round mock draft - all of this assuming no more trades are made:1 Los Angeles Rams - Jared Goff (QB - California)The Rams return to Los Angeles this season and make the Cal quarterback the face of their franchise for the future. Who cares if his hands are a little small and hes not actually the best player in the draft?2 Philadelphia Eagles - Carson Wentz (QB - North Dakota)Wentz might be a better professional prospect than Goff, but its tight between the two. The Eagles have given up plenty for this pick and they have to pray the small-school man works out for them.In whatever order, it appears Goff and Wentz will go one and two…then things get interesting and somewhat less predictable.3. San Diego Chargers - Laremy Tunsil (OT - Mississippi)The quarterback hype-train enables San Diego to get the best, but least sexy, player in the draft. Philip Rivers will love this pick as will whoever eventually takes over from him. Offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil of Ole Miss participates in a drill during the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine 4. Dallas Cowboys - Jalen Ramsey (CB - Florida State)Possibly the best defensive player in the draft and one the Cowboys probably cant avoid taking. Their choice likely comes down to Ramsey and Joey Bosa, who would help them cover a couple of possible suspensions.5. Jacksonville Jaguars - Joey Bosa (DE - Ohio State)Bosa was dominant in college and the Jaguars, who have improved in most areas through free agency, do still need a big pass rusher. The Buckeye ticks most of the boxes.6. Baltimore Ravens - Myles Jack (LB - UCLA) Not many elite middle linebackers in this draft, but Jack fits the bill. The big concern for teams drafting him are his knee issues, but Jack pairing up with CJ Mosley would make the Ravens defence one to fear again. Linebacker Myles Jack of the UCLA Bruins 7. San Francisco 49ers - Ronnie Stanley (OT - Notre Dame)The 49ers have plenty of needs, but pass protection could be No 1 after a dreadful 2015 season for supposed star QB Colin Kaepernick. He might not even start this season, but whoever does will need a player like Stanley looking after them. Richard Graves Mock Draft Richard Graves is in Chicago for Sky Sports, running the rule over the 2016 NFL Draft class and wher 8. Cleveland Browns - Ezekiel Elliott (RB - Ohio State) Many expect the Browns to trade further down the draft but should they stand pat, adding a potential franchise running back would have to be the call. They would have a triple threat from their backfield with him, pass catching threat Duke Johnson and quarterback Robert Griffin III (if he can still run).9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Vernon Hargreaves (CB - Florida) There seems to be consensus that the Bucs will target secondary help with this pick and the Gators prospect is not rated too far behind Jalen Ramsey in a decent cornerback class. Defensive back Vernon Hargreaves of Florida 10. New York Giants - Leonard Floyd (OLB - Georgia) The Giants will look for pass rushing help and Floyd fits the bill as a hybrid, who could play downs on the front line or as an outside linebacker. He bulked up ahead of the scouting combines after criticism of a lack of power at times.11. Chicago Bears - DeForest Buckner (DE - Oregon)An elite edge rusher dropping to 11 would be ideal for the Bears, who could also look at Floyd if Buckner has already gone, even though their need at linebacker decreased through free agency signings of Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman. NFL Draft: Beginners guide From crucial quarterbacks, to blockbuster trades and tears on the telephone, heres our essential gu 12. New Orleans Saints - Sheldon Rankins (DT - Louisville)The Saints were a hot mess on defence last season and have to rebuild there. Rankins is absolutely huge and should immediately be an every down player helping them against the pass and run.13. Miami Dolphins - Eli Apple (CB - Ohio State)The Dolphins will hope that Elliott drops in their lap, but it seems unlikely unless they can move up a few slots. Their secondary was distinctly second-rate last season so this kind of pick could well bear fruit (sorry, couldnt resist!). Eli Apple (L) of the Ohio State Buckeyes breaks up a pass intended for Amara Darboh #82 of the Michigan Wolverines 14. Oakland Raiders - William Jackson III (CB - Houston) Jackson has been a draft bolter in recent months and could find a nice home in Oakland, where much is expected of an improved team. They added Reggie Nelson and Sean Smith in free agency and Jackson would provide further quality in an area they struggled last year.15. Tennessee Titans - Jack Conklin (OT - Michigan State)The Titans started to rebuild with QB Marcus Mariota last year, and they have traded down from the No 1 slot to land a number of picks in this draft. With this pick they could add someone, in Conklin, who can help protect their star asset.16. Detroit Lions - Shaq Lawson (DE - Clemson)The Lions have offensive line needs as well, but if Lawson drops he will be tough to pass on. Would foorm an excellent double punch with the under-rated Ziggy Ansah.dddddddddddd Lawson out to seize NFL chance In the first of our series of interviews ahead of the 2016 NFL Draft, Shaq Lawson tells us about his 17. Atlanta Falcons - Darron Lee (OLB - Ohio State)Yet another Buckeye could come off the board here with the Falcons in desperate need at linebacker. Hes very quick and athletic, and would be a good complement to last years early pick Vic Beasley.18. Indianapolis Colts - Taylor Decker (OT - Ohio State) Five first-round Buckeyes and counting. Decker is a very good run-blocker, a great pile-pusher and would really give a boost to the all-new Titans running game, of course now featuring DeMarco Murray.19. Buffalo Bills - Paxton Lynch (QB - Memphis) This is my pick should there be no trades but a few teams really like Lynch, some more so than the likely top two selections, and could easily trade up to snag him before now. If not the Bills get a fine quarterback to take over from Tyrod Taylor, perhaps as early as opening day. Paxton Lynch of the Memphis Tigers 20. New York Jets - Reggie Ragland (ILB - Alabama) The Jets are probably #1 candidate to trade up for Lynch, making this pick something of a lottery. Should they get stuck without their new franchise QB, then Ragland would make up for the loss of Demario Davis to Cleveland.21. Washington Redskins - Laquon Treadwell (WR - Mississippi) The Redskins could easily go front-line defence here (AShawn Robinson or Jarran Reed) but Treadwell would give them a huge receiver for the future, which will likely start without one of DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon in 2017. Both veterans are free agents next year.22. Houston Texans - Corey Coleman (WR - Baylor)Expect a rush on wide receivers in this part of the first round, with the Texans adding the perfect complement for DeAndre Hopkins. Tight end a possible here as well, but top-rated Hunter Henry could be something of a reach, and Colemans speed is a real asset. Corey Coleman of the Baylor Bears 23. Minnesota Vikings - Josh Doctson (WR - TCU) Another wideout comes off the board, and this one might have most impact in season one. Hes got great hands, but would probably prefer to land somewhere with a better quarterback situation than Minneapolis, where there is also a new stadium effect to throw in.24. Cincinnati Bengals - Will Fuller (WR - Notre Dame)You guessed it, wide receiver again. These last four picks could easily be inter-changeable. Fuller is a similar player to Coleman, with speed a huge asset, and that would probably help open up some space for AJ Green and Tyler Eifert.25. Pittsburgh Steelers - Artie Burns (CB - Miami)The Steelers need help in the secondary more than anywhere else. They would love for Jackson or Apple to fall this far, and it is possible, but if not Burns would be a handy addition. Artie Burns of the Miami Hurricanes rushes during a game against the Florida Atlantic Owls 26. Seattle Seahawks - Robert Nkemdiche (DT - Mississippi)On pure talent Nkemdiche belongs much higher in the draft, but hes had…lets just call them issues away from football and carries risk with him. But whats not to like about a guy who wants to buy a panther if he is drafted in the first round?27. Green Bay Packers - Andrew Billings (NT - Baylor)Billings is a big body and size up front is something the Packers really need. Jarran Reed would also be a target here, although Billings projects as a better fit. NFL Draft: Top pick QBs A quarterback is set to be selected No 1 in the 2016 Draft, so we take a closer look at some previou 28. Kansas City Chiefs - Kevin Dodd (DE - Clemson)The Chiefs improved a great deal last year and another pass rusher could just push them over the edge in terms of a Super Bowl run. Dodds stock has risen all year, and it could even see him taken earlier than this, but if hes available Id expect the Chiefs to pounce.29. Arizona Cardinals - AShawn Robinson (DT - Alabama) Predictions for Robinson have been all over the board, from just outside the top 10 to not being picked in the first round at all. But I could see Arizona taking a chance on him if he drops, and run stuffing was one of their few issues last season. AShawn Robinson (R) of the Alabama Crimson Tide 30. Carolina Panthers - Jason Spriggs (OT - Indiana) Spriggs proved an excellent pass protector in college, and keeping Cam Newton safe should be one of Carolinas chief concerns this season. GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A dominating two-week road trip for the Chicago Blackhawks gave warning to the rest of the NHL: Its going to be difficult to dethrone the defending Stanley Cup champions. The Blackhawks seven-game, 13-day trip ended with a sixth straight victory Saturday night, as Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist in a dominant first period and Antti Raanta made 32 saves in a 5-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. "We loved the trip," said coach Joel Quenneville, whose team improved to an NHL-best 20-4-4. "We loved the consistency. We loved the contribution were getting across the board." After watching a 3-0 lead become 3-2 after a sloppy second period, Brandon Bolligs goal with 9:11 left put it away for Chicago. Andrew Shaw and Niklas Hjalmarsson also scored for the Blackhawks, and Marian Hossa added an empty-net goal. Rob Klinkhammer and Martin Hanzal scored for the Coyotes, whose fourth loss in five games left coach Dave Tippett fuming. "Thats the top team in the league and we come out and start like that?" Tippett said. "Thats just unacceptable." On their annual, lengthy trip while the United Center hosts the circus, Chicago played in Colorado, toured western Canada and stopped in Dallas on Friday night, where the Blackhawks prevailed in the 11th round of a shootout. After stopping 10 of 11 shots in the shootout less than 24 hours earlier, Quenneville gave Corey Crawford the night off. Raanta, who secured his first NHL victory Wednesday in Calgary, showed poise in his second start after the Coyotes got within a goal late in the second period. "It was much easier to play today than in Calgary," Raanta said. "It was a pretty good game and I felt really good," The Blackhawks showed no fatigue early, while getting some help from the bumbling Coyotes, who have made a habit of falling behind early. Phoenix was called for too many men on the ice after the first shift 49 seconds into the game, and 25 seconds later Derek Morris was sent to the box for holding. Chicago took advantage of the 5 on 3 against the leagues 27th-ranked penalty killing unit as Kane deflected Hossas shot from the point, beating goaltender Mike Smith high for Kanes 16th goal of the season. The Blackhawks went up 2-0 when Shaw picked up the puck in a scramble in front of the net and sent a soft, bouncing backhand that squiirted past Smith by the left post at 9:18.dddddddddddd Less than two minutes later, Hjalmarssons took Kanes pass off the boards and beat Smith from the corner and Chicago had three goals on 12 shots. "Great start. It could have been our best period to start a period all year," Quenneville said. It marked the second time this week Phoenix, which has been outscored 28-16 in the first period this season, had fallen behind 3-0 in the opening 20 minutes. "I dont know what it is. We obviously arent ready for the first period," Hanzal said. "We have to start making sure we are ready because this is unacceptable." Phoenix got within 3-1 early in the second period when Michael Stone intentionally shot wide. The puck bounced off the boards directly to Klinkhammer, who poked it in the net by the near post for his fifth goal, while Stone got an assist. Chicagos parade to the penalty box allowed the Coyotes to make it a game. With Hjalmarsson serving four minutes for slashing and then complaining about it, Hanzal redirected Radim Vrbatas pass in front of the net to make it 3-2 with 4:04 left in the second. But Chicago later killed off a 5-on-3 power play. Smith stopped 31 shots in what Tippett called a "very average" performance in a sour ending to a record-breaking night off the ice for the Coyotes. Despite competition in the area from the Arizona-Arizona State football game and the Jazz-Suns game, the Coyotes announced they broke a franchise record for single-game revenue, in part because all luxury suites were sold and the team has cut down on ticket giveaways. The sellout crowd of 17,321 was a high point for the once-troubled franchise, which was under NHL control until a group led by George Gosbee took over this summer and committed to keep the team in Arizona. But the Coyotes fell to 0-2 against the Blackhawks. "The consistency is what were appreciating," Quenneville said. "The energy and enthusiasm in the locker room and on the bench is as good as weve seen it here." NOTES: Coyotes D Rusty Klesla, who was waived Tuesday, sent to the minors Wednesday and then recalled Friday so he could attend to a personal matter, was a healthy scratch. ... My window looks out on the ocean, the three-time All-American running back from South Dakota State said Wednesday morning from St. Petersburg, Florida, but I havent been there yet. Oh, surely there must be time for some pleasure amid all the business. I just got done taking a Troutwine test, Zenner pointed out. Well then, that fun performance profiling surely reflected Zenners intelligence and intangibles such as competitive desire and mental toughness. Perhaps his reaction time on the test mirrored his acceleration on the field. A color will be spelled out, like the word red, for example, Zenner explained the psychological evaluation. But the color of the word red will be black. And youre supposed to identify the color of the word. You read red, but the color of the word is black, so you need to select black. Its all in a day in the life of a player trying to make a bigger name for himself at a college football all-star games. A player from an FCS program, like Zenner, has been a star for a while, but in the buildup to the NFL Draft in May, he has to overcome the stigma of playing on the smaller-school level. There are so many success stories, of course, but the perception still remains. Just this past Saturday, Coastal Carolina All-American linebacker Quinn Backus represented the FCS level well by claiming American team MVP honors with six tackles and an 87-yard pick-six at the Medal of Honor Bowl in Charleston, South Carolina. The three biggest all-star games are up next. The Shrine Game and the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, California, will be played Saturday, while the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, will follow on Jan. 24. Zenner will get a long look from NFL teams. What must be particularly intriguing to them is the 6-foot, 220-pound back is the only Division I player, and just the second in NCAA history, to rush for at least 2,000 yards in three different seasons. He has a patient, north-south style, but can find another gear in the open field, as evidenced by five runs of 75 yards or more in his college career. Hes also a solid pass catcher. Zenner is one of 11 FCS players at the Shrine Game. At last years game, an FCS quarterback, 2013 Walter Payton Award winner Jimmy Garoppolo from Eastern Illinois, was named the offensive most valuable player. Its been great being here, its been an honor, its been interesting and a good experience so far, Zenner said. I think Im doing OK. The interviews go pretty fast because I dont have any, like, previous arrests or anything to explain. On the field Monday, I was a little rusty, but yesterday I had a better practice. So, hopefully, Ill have another good one today. It takes a little bit to get used to. I think everyone did well in college. But I was part of a high school all-star team, so Ive been in a similar situation. Its the same thing as getting to a college for the first time. Everyone was the big dude in high school. Its a similar feel except at a higher level. While Zenner is focused on fulfilling his NFL dream - he also will participate at the leagues annual scouting combine in Indianapolis next month - he has a pretty good fallback plan. As part of the National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete Class, an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship awaits him for medical school. The inaugural recipient of the Mickey Charles Award, which honors academic achievement by an FCS student-athlete, Zenner carried a 3.86 grade point average before completing his undergraduate work at SDSU last month. But, oh, does the Minnesota native ever wish he could find time to get to the beach this week. I want to take advantage of it, but I wont have time today, he said. Maybe tomorrow, I might. Rollins homered with two outs in the 10th inning Saturday night, and the Philadelphia Phillies overcame two home runs by Giancarlo Stanton to beat the Miami Marlins 5-4. Rollins drove a 2-2 pitch from Dan Jennings (0-1) into the seats in left. It was the 201st career homer for Rollins, but just the second game ender of his career. The first came June 23, 2010, against Cleveland. Rollins said he was very upset with a comment directed toward him by a fan sitting near the home teams dugout during his final at-bat. "There was some fan in the stands popping off," Rollins said. "He was right behind our dugout, close enough to yell and piss me off, honestly. It was something pretty ignorant, but it worked." After hitting the ball, Rollins turned and yelled in the fans direction. Rollins said he told the fan to shut up, using an abbreviated expletive. "I was locked and had some aggression. It just worked out I was able to tell him," Rollins said. B.J. Rosenberg (1-0) pitched a scoreless 10th for the victory. Rollins finished with three hits and hot-hitting Chase Utley had two doubles and drove in a run for Philadelphia, which has won 12 of 15 against the Marlins. Through nine games, Utley is batting .500 with five doubles and eight RBIs. Tony Gwynn Jr., starting in centre and leading off for the second straight day in place of Ben Revere (sore ribs), had a pair of hits. Stanton finished with three hits and three RBIs for the Marlins. His first homer, measured at 470 feet, cleared the seats in left-centre and landed on Ashburn Alley -- a popular outfield concessions spot. The fifth-inning solo drive off Jonathan Pettibone pulled Miami to 4-2. "I dont want to be a part of it, but you just go along with it," Pettibone said. Stanton tied it at 4 in the seventh when he drilled reliever Justin De Fratus first offering to deep left for a two-run shot. It was the 10th two-homer game for Stanton. Stanton was due to bat second in the 11th if the game continued. "We had Giancarlo coming up and that wasnt a good thing," Rollins said. Said Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg, "The first two swings it looked like he had one thing in mind and that was not to play any more extra innings." Rollins RBI single and Utleyss run-scoring double gave Philadelphia a 2-0 lead after one.dddddddddddd The Marlins got a run back in the second and would have scored at least two more if not for replay. Second base umpire Gary Cederstrom called Marcell Ozuna safe at second, saying that Ozuna beat shortstop Rollins to the bag on a forceout after Utley ranged right and threw to Rollins on Stantons grounder up the middle. But Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg challenged and, after a 2 minute, 27 seconds delay, umpires overturned the call. Replays showed that Rollins touched the bag before Ozuna for the final out. "It really cost us a couple of runs," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. Adeiny Hechavarria had scored, Christian Yelich likely would have scored and the Marlins then wouldve had runners on first and second with two outs. "Normally that would be a huge play in the game," Sandberg said. "Im glad it went in our favour. It was a successful challenge and big in that moment." Miami did get some good fortune in the inning as Ryan Howard dropped Rollins throw to first on Ozunas grounder to shortstop that wouldve been the final out. Jarrod Saltalamacchia scored from third on Howards error. The Phillies went ahead 4-1 in the third on Utleys double and Howards single. Pettibone, activated from Triple-A Lehigh Valley for the game, allowed two runs -- one earned -- on eight hits in five innings in his season debut. Pettibone is filling in until left-hander Cole Hamels (left biceps tendinitis) returns to the rotation. Miami starter Nathan Eovaldi went 6 1-3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking none. NOTES: Hamels pitched six strong innings in a rehab start for Class-A Clearwater on Saturday night, giving up one run on six hits with six strikeouts and no walks. . Marcus Granlund scored a power-play goal with a minute left in regulation as the Heat staved off elimination with a 2-1 win in Game 3 against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Corey Locke also scored for the Heat, who still trail 2-1 in the best-of-five series with Game 4 scheduled for Friday in Grand Rapids. "We came here and got the first one, and we need two more," Granlund said. "Were taking it day by day, and game by game, and we have to keep going. We have to keep pushing and win the next game, too." After dropping the first two games on their home ice, the Heat returned the favour by rallying in the final period for a pair of goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and earn the critical road win. "Our backs are against the wall, we realize that," Abbotsford coach Troy Ward said. "We came on the trip knowing we would play 20 minutes at a time, and the good thing about our team is were never too high or too low. "We felt good about Game 1, and obviously we stubbed our toe in Game 2, but we felt pretty good about ourselves coming in tonight." Granlunds game winner came after Grand Rapids Jeff Hoggan was whistled for high sticking with 1:20 left to put the Heat on the power play. Former Griffin Chad Billins delivered the pass to Granlund, who knocked it past Grand Rapids goalie Petr Mrazek. "It was a great pass by Billins, and I just shot it and it was a goal," Granlund said. "It was very exciting." Abbotsford went 1 for 9 on the power play in Games 1 and 2, and was 0 for 3 in Game 3 before the final goal. "Our power play has struggled so far in the series, so that was the bright eyed part of the game," Ward said. "It was a good play by Granlund, and hes been probably our catalyst all year." Grand Rapids, the defending Calder Cup champions, grabbed an early 1-0 lead on a power-play goal with 2:33 remaining in the first period when Tomas Jurco scored on a wrist shot off a pass from Riley Sheahan. Heat goalie Joni Ortio helped keep it a one-goal game with 19 stops through the first two periods and the Heat finally broke through less than six minutes into the third. Locke ripped a shot past Mrazek to tie the game before Granlunds goal at 18:58. "I thought as the game wore on, we skated better," Ward said. "I thought we had a couple really good pushes in the second there and I thought that made a difference with our confidence coming out in the third. We just picked it up after that.
